Helping you find clarity, connection, and hope.
Welcome to Katherine Bell Counseling, part of Matters of the Heart Counseling. I believe healing happens when you feel safe enough to be real — when you don’t have to minimize your feelings or carry everything on your own.
If your marriage feels tense or disconnected, if anxiety keeps pulling you into overthinking or shutdown, or if you’re simply tired of the same patterns repeating, you don’t have to sort it out alone. I’ll sit with you, help you slow things down, and gently uncover what’s really happening beneath the surface.
Together, we’ll work toward relationships that feel more secure, a nervous system that feels more settled, and a life that feels more grounded and connected.
From the outside, things may look mostly fine….
You may be managing work, family, responsibilities, and relationships in a way that looks like you’re holding it all together.
But internally, it might feel very different.
• Your mind rarely slows down and you're always thinking about what needs to happen next
• You feel responsible for keeping everything running smoothly
• Stress and anxiety feel like a constant background noise in your life
• Conversations with your partner quickly turn into misunderstandings or arguments
• You want to feel more connected in your relationship, but don’t know how to change the pattern
• You often feel emotionally drained from trying to meet everyone’s expectations
• You wonder why things still feel so overwhelming even when you're doing your best
Many of the individuals and couples I work with are thoughtful, capable people who care deeply about their relationships and responsibilities—but feel stuck in patterns of anxiety, pressure, or disconnection.
Therapy offers a place to slow down, understand what’s happening beneath the surface, and begin creating healthier ways of relating—to yourself and to the people you love.
My Approach
I believe therapy should feel like a steady, safe place where you can exhale — where your story matters and your emotions aren’t “too much.” My work is rooted in the understanding that we are wired for connection, and when relationships feel strained or uncertain, it impacts everything.
Whether I’m working with teens, adults, or couples, I pay attention to what’s happening underneath the surface — the fears, the longings, the protective walls we build when we don’t feel secure. Together, we’ll slow things down and gently untangle the patterns that leave you feeling anxious, stuck, or disconnected.
Real change doesn’t just come from learning strategies. It comes from experiencing new moments of safety — within yourself and with the people you love — and discovering that connection can feel steady, honest, and secure.
