Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect in my first counseling session?

Your first session is a gentle beginning. We’ll spend time getting to know you—what’s been heavy lately, what’s most important to you, and what you hope will feel different. I’ll share a bit about how I work, and together we’ll decide the best path forward. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out—you can just show up as you are.

How long are sessions and how often do we meet?

Most counseling sessions are 50 minutes long. Many clients choose to meet weekly or every other week, depending on their goals and schedule. We’ll decide together what rhythm of support feels right for you.

Do you offer in-person or online sessions?

Yes! I offer both in-person counseling in the Gallatin and Hendersonville, TN area and secure online therapy for women, couples, and families across Tennessee. Online sessions are a convenient and effective way to receive support from the comfort of your own space—especially for busy seasons of life.

At times, I may recommend or require an in-person session depending on your specific needs, goals, or the type of therapy we’re doing (for example, certain child or family sessions benefit from being in the same room). We’ll talk together about what setting best supports your growth and comfort.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

If you’ve ever thought, “Something has to change, but I don’t know where to start,” therapy can help. You don’t have to wait until things feel unmanageable—many people begin simply wanting more peace, clarity, or connection in their lives. Our work together can help you move from surviving to truly living.

Do you accept insurance?

I’m an out-of-network provider, which means I don’t bill insurance directly. However, I can provide a superbill you can submit for possible reimbursement, depending on your plan. Many clients choose private pay for the flexibility, privacy, and freedom it offers in shaping their therapy experience.

What are your session fees and payment options?

The standard rate for a 50-minute individual or couples session is $100. Limited Saturday appointments may be available at a rate of $120 per session.

A small number of sliding scale slots are reserved for clients with financial need. If cost is a barrier, please feel free to ask about current availability—I want therapy to be as accessible as possible.

Payment is due at the time of service and can be made through my secure client portal using a credit/debit card or HSA/FSA card.
